Location Tracking on Android and iOS

Whether you have an iOS system or a Google Android device, you share data with Apple or Google on average every 4.5 minutes, EVEN when your phone is idle and you’ve opted out of sharing. Each day, this amounts to 2MB of your personal data transmitted to Google and 100 KB to Apple.

This includes your location, phone number, your IP, your advertising ID (an identifier to track you online), among others – and iOS devices even share your precise location up to within 10 meters! Read more about this here.

Coming from Google, such data sharing may not be a surprise. But it does seem uncanny of Apple, given its claims of making user privacy a priority.
